I have J-Link Edu, but I wonder if I can use it with the new PCB only using SWD pins. Is it possible to connect it this way and not

RE: nrf52832 2 pin debugger

Hi,

All have the 4 mentioned pins or inputs, but I suppose the Vtref and GND_detect is mainly used to set level shifters in the debugger and detect that there is a target connected. It might work to connect the Vtref to another VDD source that has the same level, and short the GND_Detect pin to ground. You will probably need your devices to share ground for this to work.

Best regards,

You need Vtref and GND for providing references.
Any particular reason why you want to have just 2 pins?

RE: nrf52832 2 pin debugger

but what if I want to use only 2 pins, is there any debugger work with two pins?

RE: nrf52832 2 pin debugger

J-Link Edu should work fine but you would need to connect 4 wires: SWDCLK, SWDIO, VTref and GND between your custom PCB and the J-Link Edu to make it work.
