&lt;p&gt;Yes, nRF52832 is a Bluetooth 5.0 compatible device. Note that it does not support the long-range capabilities of Bluetooth 5.0, the nRF52840 and nRF52833 do.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The biggest change between Bluetooth 4.2 and 5.0 is that 5.0 introduced 3 new PHYs (physical layers) in its protocol stack. These include 2Mbps, Coded PHY S=8 (125kbps long-range), and Coded PHY S=2 (500kbps long-range). This means that the Bluetooth 5.0 stack is able to either double the data throughput or quadruple the range from the 1Mbps physical layer used in Bluetooth 4.2.&lt;/p&gt;
