Hi,

The nRFutil can trigger DFu mode buttonless.

It is working fine on nRFutil version 5.2.0.

However, the DFU trigger failed after version 6.0.1.

It looks there is a bug in the tool.

Hi,I want run a comand or app to trigger dfu mode. nrfutil comand can supoort it ,or not?

I want to trigger dfu mode buttonless,by any way. Is there have a method?

Yes, It works perfect.

The nrfutil version I am testing is 5.2.0.

The older version 4.0.0 does not support this feature.

Please make sure the nrfutil version is 5.2.0 or newer if anyone else want to test DFU trigger library.

I got a reply from the devs almost immediately, and according to this code, the device should be set to DFU mode automatically. First, please confirm that your application has a trigger interface. The command nrfutil dfu usb-serial should set the device in DFU mode and then do the DFU.

Sorry about the misunderstanding! I have forwarded this question to the developers in order to get a definitive answer on the matter, but as far as I can see it doesn't seem like there is such a command in nrfutil. You can check the GitHub repo yourself as well. It might take a few days to hear back from the devs, but I'll update you as soon as I get an answer.

Hi Simon,

I am asking a nrfutil command for the DFU trigger library(USB).

Not a nrfutil command for upgrade a chip already under DFU mode.

I can't see the document above mention any of DFU trigger library.

If you make sure the nrfutil command support DFU trigger library.

Would you please give me an example nrfutil command for the DFU trigger.

Yes, you should be able to perform DFU using nrfutil. Please check out the BLE secure DFU Bootloader example where you can find a number of steps telling you how to perform a DFU using nrfutil or a mobile app.

Can I use nrfutil command to trigger DFU library, then programming the USB dongle?

I can only use nRF connect/programmer to trigger the DFU library right now.

I'm sorry, but can you please specify what you mean about nRFConnect DFU trigger? I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean about this. The NRF_BL_DFU_ENTER_METHOD_PINRESET will set the device in DFU mode on a pin reset. If you want it to go to DFU mode on a specific pin trigger, that should be possible as well.
