&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t think (not 100% sure), that the app_uart module supports multiple uart instances. That would require some changes in the app_uart modules.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t think it is correct that the serial library is no longer supported. We have examples in the SDK that use it, such as the SDK16.0.0\examples\peripheral\serial_uartes.&lt;/p&gt;
