&lt;p&gt;The app_timer is running on a single RTC instance for all timers. The impact in current consumption is that the CPU will need to wake up more frequently to handle the events when the timers run out. This should not have a big impact in most applications, but I would recommend that you do a test with your application to see how big the impact is for you with the desired intervals. You can measure current accurately with the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-tools/Development-Kits/Power-Profiler-Kit"&gt;Power Profiler Kit&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
