Thanks for the reply and suggestions Andreas. I've started looking at the raw Tx and Rx examples in the examples>peripheral folder, and have a simple packet transmitter running on the nRF52811, so hopefully I'll get the CTE appearing soon.

Hi,

Correct, as stated in the second ticket to which you link, you can not do this with the Softdevice. This is an unfortunate limitation, we are working on a solution but this is relatively complex stuff so it is taking some time.

For now, at least for prototyping, the easiest starting point is probably using the radio examples in the SDK, or potentially the solar beacon reference design code. These do not use a Softdevice), meaning you should see the CTE.
