Hi,

So from the attached log file, it doesn't look like you have coverage or that the device has attached to the network - see line 238, +CESQ and line 233 +CEREG.

Please wait for the device to register to the network (+CEREG returning 5 instead of 4) before initializing the GPS.

AT#XGPSRUN=1,3
AT#XGPSRUN?
AT#XGPSRUN=0
AT#XGPSRUN?

Please provide a full output log in a text file not a screenshot of the terminal. If you're using LTE Link Monitor, you can press the button below to open the log in a text file. Please save it and attach it in your next comment by selecting Insert -> Insert image/video/file

Hi Heidi,

Recently I have been working on this example. The file which you attached which details the AT commands works perfectly for TCP and UDP communication. Thanks to you. Now I have been trying to use the gps at commands but it gives me following error. I tried to run the same command before and after AT+CFUN=1. That is before starting the modem and after starting the modem. But it still doesn't seem to work. Could please help me understand and solve this issue? I would really appreciate it.

You are correct, sorry about that. I see now that +CESQ is returning an rsrp number at the end of the file.

Could you enable CONFIG_AT_CMD_LOG_LEVEL_DBG=y in the prj.conf file and reflash the firmware? And in the meantime, I will have somebody take a look at your modem trace.

Hi,

I am quite sure about the network and the Sim Card as the other MQTT application which I downloaded was working and had no issues as far as network coverage.

Hi!

From the log file, I can see that you don't have coverage where you are. So you aren't connecting to a network which is why you can't open a socket and are getting an error from the modem.

Are you sure your SIM card supports for LTE-M or NB-IoT, and that there is coverage where you are located?

Thank you. I see you are receiving

at_host: Could not send AT command to modem: -8

which means at_cmd_write() is returning ENOEXEC: is returned if the modem returned ERROR.

Could you, first of all, provide me with a new log file where you send the following AT commands to the modem:

AT+CESQ
//wait for response
AT+CEREG?
//wait for response

Then, while you're at it, provide me with a modem trace, see this tutorial for how to do it.

Hi, I have added the file you had mentioned before. Apart from that the LTE sign on the top right is not green. I think I have to send some flow of AT commands to turn it on.

Hi! No, it's not a syntax error. Are you sure you are connected to a network?

Could you provide me with a full log file from LTE Link Monitor by pressing this button - it's easier for me to see what's going on.

Happy new Year! Thanks for giving me the list of At commands. I tried on my board, but it doesn't seem to work on my end.

Please let me know if I could do something with this. I updated the modem firmware too. But still gives me an error. Might be syntax issue.

Thanks for the reply Heidi and apologies for the late reply. Let me frame the question in a different way. I am getting error when I type in AT command mentioned in the post. Could you please give me an example. of the AT Command which you send specifically which doe work and also I am not sure about the what does "op" and "type" mean in "AT#XSOCKET=<op>[,<type>]".

The documentation shows which AT commands are used in this sample, see here. So you can use any of these.
