In next few months I've to put down a new design for a medical product. Both nRF52840 and nRF5340 would fit well the application requirements. But I think this is an opportunity for the company to lay the groundwork for an enduring BLE/MCU

RE: nRF5340 Off-The-Shelf module

Ok, thank you.

RE: nRF5340 Off-The-Shelf module

Hi,

For questions regarding roadmaps and future products, please contact our (Nordic's) regional sales manager for your region. He may provide more information on device availability for the nRF5340. If you do not know who that is, please ask in a private message or create a private ticket here on DevZone to ask.

Truth be told, the very first application I have to develop does not require RF at all.
For such "only-MCU" application, could it be a viable (and wise) to solder the nRF5340 chip on the PCB ?
I imagine my trusted PCB designer could manage blind vias and 3-mils traces.
What's your comment on this ?

I think you will have to wait a while for any modules based on the nRF53 series. The chip isn't actually available yet, and it will take time for modules to follow once it is.

We offer a full range of nRF52 modules in a miniature package and we have an nRF53 device on the roadmap. But it will take some time.

So it depends a bit on your timescales. And of course one must assume all those features will come with a price tag attached :-)
