So I downloaded an older version, installed

RE: nrfConnect: old versions: broken nonsense?

Hi,

I suspect the problem may be in the drier, which checks the serial number. Can you try reinstalling the app, making sure to accept also installing the updated driver?

RE: nrfConnect: old versions: broken nonsense?

I tried with two new Dongles and in each case, nRF connect offered to update bootloader and firmware. I said ok,and that went ok (light went from red to green). But then the error when I try to connect after updating. From the log it looks like nRF connect is talking just fine with the dongle, but I'm guessing it doesn't like the serial number. Any clues about what to try next?
Regarding the bug, I have not seen that before my self. Can you post the system report (click on the menu in the upper left corner in an nRF Connect app to get it)? Any additional information would be useful.

Regarding downgrading nRF Connect apps, that is currently not supported, but I have raised the issue internally.

RE: nrfConnect: old versions: broken nonsense?

Hi ,
