The python binding (pc-ble-driver-py) is currently using s132 API version 5 which does not have long-range support. s140 API version 6 is however supported by the pc-ble-driver itself if Python is not a requirement.

Ps. the 52840 dongles (10059) may be an even cheaper alternative if you can do without the onboard J-link programmer. It retails for around 10 USD.

We used nRF Connect Automated Test on phone as a workaround, I'm revisiting this because we'd need to support long range in our CI process and phones with long range support are a lot more expensive than PCA10056s. I'll update this ticket once we have had a chance to try it out.

Hello,

Could you quickly try the pre-compiled binary from the 6.1.0 release and see if that works? It's available at https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfutil/releases. The bug report I made for this had not been updated.

Sorry for the wait. I have been able to replicate the segmentation fault now. And I have forwarded the details of this crash to the team. I will let you know as soon as I have an update on this.

Hi,

I don't have a DK right now, but in general nrfjprog has worked without any issues.

(nrfutilenv) Otso-MacBook-Pro:src otsojousimaa$ nrfjprog --eraseall
ERROR: There is no debugger connected to the PC.

I'll check later today with the activated pyenv, but the issue seems to be something else as I still get the same segfault with nrfutil.

Hi,

nrfutil uses nrfjprog to flash the connectivity firmware to the DFU controller board when using option -f. Can you check if you get problems running other nrfjprog commands as well, e.g 'nrfjprog --eraseall'? If so please double check that you have installed the Jlink Software for macOS, which you can download from here.
