So I should not have issues putting the same firmware on multiple devices? I'm trying to understand how this might also play into a need to serialize devices during assembly.

Each iOS device generates its own unique UUID for each peripheral (Bluetooth Low Energy device) that connects to it. (Maybe it is some hash of both the bluetooth device's address and a unique identifier on the iOS device)

A UUID can be used by apps to keep track of connections and reconnections to a specific bluetooth low energy device, but the device will have a different UUID on each iOS device.

I just checked a number of devices I have running here with the same FW on all of them. They all report different UUIDs in LightBlue when they are first connected to and you haven't tunneled into the services or advertisement data. Perhaps it is generated based on the peripherals address?

iPhone screenshots added. Correction: these are actually variants of the same firmware (different version numbers). Does that UUID take into account a CRC of the compiled hex?
