The nRF52 chip itself is powered by the output of REG0, VDD. So if VDD was 0 volt the nRF52 would have been completely shut down as well. So it's not possible.

In order to reduce the current consumption to the other devices connected with VDD_nRF power supply, VDD pin is needed to shut down the power (zero voltage level). In this case, can VDD pin be set zero voltage level in system ON mode?
