The QSPI recommendations are just that, recommendations. You can use any of the free GPIOs for this if you'd like/ if it fits your design better. There should not be any drawbacks using these pins as QSPI pins either.

While in the datasheet there are recommended usage of pins for QSPI, I think the pins I am using here are for the QSPI (my apology if this was not clear). So the question becomes

- Should I follow the recommendation in the datasheet, or can I assign QSPI pins like I did?

- If it is ok to use the way I used them, would there be any drawback?

These pins should be fine to use as SPI pins in your design.
