&lt;p&gt;This external RTC should be connected to power, and would not be affected by a reset on the nRF52. Please read up on the datasheet of the DS3231M (f&lt;a href="https://datasheets.maximintegrated.com/en/ds/DS3231M.pdf"&gt;ound here&lt;/a&gt;) in order to see how to keep the date and time during power off. As we have not made this external RTC, we aren&amp;#39;t experts on it I&amp;#39;m afraid, but I assume it is stated in the datasheet.&lt;/p&gt;
