&lt;p&gt;In general, companies often want you to use their own apps, and then they do not share information about the protocols that they use. It may also be that they want to be able to change the protocol whenever they need to do so, but if they publish a specification they cannot do that as easily.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I do not know what is the policy of this particular company, nor what protocol they use. If they have no public information about it then they probably do not want to share the details. For a definite answer you would have to contact them directly.&lt;/p&gt;
