I wouldn't rely on that!

If it's a fake J-Link, who knows what problems and limitations it might have!

I was unfortunate enough to be sold a fake J-Link - and it did work in some cases, but not others.

I would certainly suggest that you first try with a genuine J-Link - the on-board J-Link on a Nordic DK would do ...

Ya i have programmed the dongle using nrf52840 dk and it was sucessfully running and after i have selected recover option in nrfgo studio then after my dongle stopped working ...can you please help me how to bring the doongle to working state and also i have refered nRF Connect for Desktop Programmer and while flashing the bootloader its shows error as --IDcode not found check target interface ..i am using nrf commandline tool for flashing bootloader

Do you have an nRF52840-DK that you can use to program your board for comparison? The nRF52840-DK have an debug out that can be used for the purpose (it's fixed ~3V, but 3.3V on your target board should work).
