&lt;p&gt;The nRF Connect for desktop app uses Serialized Softdevice APIs (Nordic Bluetooth stack) to control the nRF52 device. It&amp;#39;s similar to the serialized setup described in the SDK documentation except that the Application processor is a PC in this case (&lt;a title="Running a serialized application" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v16.0.0/nrf51_setups_serialization.html?cp=7_1_1_4"&gt;Running a serialized application&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;/p&gt;
