Ameer Usman got a lot of stuff correct here, but I'd like to clarify a few things. First off, we do have the nRF52833 DK, where the chip itself is compatible with direction-finding. However, you would need an antenna array supporting direction finding in addition to the DK, something that we do not provide at this time. It's also correct that we do not have the software support for direction finding yet, so you will have to do that part yourself as well.

You can contact your regional sales manager for more information and a roadmap on if and when these features will be supported by Nordic. If you don't have their contact information, please use our "Sales related questions" contact form to get in touch.

Best regards,

Simon

RE: Regarding Bluetooth 5.1 Development board.

The nRF52840 does not have the AoA and AoA features. But the nRF52811 does have them but there is no official support for them in the SDK as of yet. Again, there is no Development Kit for the nRF52811 at the moment but it is pin compatible with the nRF52832. So what one can do is purchase a nRF52832 board, remove its IC and solder nRF52811 in its place and you would get a DK of nRF52811.

But then again nRF52811 supports AoA and AoD but there is no official SDK of it yet. If you want more information, use the Search the DevZone to see what the officials have said about this statement.
