I just have a little suspect... I'm afraid the indications of the guide are intended for "rooted" phones, even though it is not explicit.

How far into the process did you get? Have you scanned the media files as noted in step 1? "Note: newly created files may not be visible on the PC when connected with USB. This is because Android must perform a scan of media files. Get the files from GitHub or trigger the media scanner manually: restart the phone/tablet or install and launch the Rescan SD application (or similar) from Google Play."

It seems like you don't have permission to access the test.xml file. Have you enabled USB debugging on your Android device and installed the required drivers on your PC (see step 6 in the link you posted)?
