The nRF connect Android app includes the same DFU support. Anyway, nRF toolbox v.2.8.3 got released yesterday, have you tried it? There have been some DFU related fixes since v2.8.0

nRF connect app doesn't include DFU. It also has some connection issues. But at this point, I am more interested in DFU using Android.

I'll check with the team if this might be a known issue. Have you tried using the nRF connect app on Android for the same?
