Sorry for the long delay with this. Is this still relevant?

I got the following from the engineer:

There's not so much we can do about this other than giving hints on where to look.

They will need hardware flow control activated in the firmware if they are using a nordic kit with a segger chip. When they connect from pc it should be with hardware flow control set to none (because of how the particular virtual com port client operates).

They might try to increase timeout values in ble-driver transport.

I tried with and without hardware flow control, still the application does not connect to the board at 115k2.

By default, connectivity is compiled without flow control.

Did you change the HWFC settings in connectivity FW or the pc-ble-driver application?

PCA10040 v1.1.1 2017.1 is the version. I connect through the USB cable. How should I check the hardware flow control ?

What hardware version are you using?

How do you connect the host and DK?

i have no external nRF32832. The nrf52832 is on the NRF52DK board.

Did you test with the external nRF52832 on the nRF52DK?

Could you also test with the nRF52DK (without the extra nRF52832)?

Yes, I tested with sd_api_v5. The prebuilt firmware at 1M does work, the 115k2 does not work. We use the NRF52-DK board with an nrf52832.

What is the output when you run the application?

Are you running on a DK or a custom board?

If you tested with the connectivity_4.0.0_115k2_with_s132_5.1.0.hex, you also need to use the sd_api_v5 build of the application.

Did you modify the #define DEFAULT_BAUD_RATE at https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-ble-driver/blob/master/examples/heart_rate_collector/main.c#L67?

Hello Amanda,

yes, i have tried changing the parameters in the ser_config.h to use 115k2, but the firmware does not work after changing these parameters. I can not connect to the board with this firmware from my pc software.

I also tried with the precompiled firmware from version 4.0.0, but I also get the same result. The firmware works on 1M connection speed, but not 115k2.

Hi,

It should be possible to use 115200 as well if you build your own application with pc-ble-driver.
You will have to follow the instructions in https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-ble-driver#compiling-connectivity-hex-files to build the connectivity firmware

And the simplest would be to change the baudrate in the patch: https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-ble-driver/blob/master/hex/nRF5_SDK_15.3.0_connectivity.patch
