Q2: Unfortunately the Laird support was not helpful at all. That's why I have looked for help here as well.

I have found a solution. The J-Link emulator was out of date, I guess. Starting the "J-Link commander", prompted a popup that there is a new version of the J-Link emulator. After the installation of the new J-Link firmware, everything works as expected.

Connecting to J-Link via USB...O.K.
Firmware: J-Link OB-SAM3U128 V3 compiled Dec 11 2019 10:01:09
Hardware version: V3.00

Hi,

Q1: Do you see the same nrfjprog behavior on other PCs as well? Just to isolate if its a local setup issue.

Q2: Have you asked the producer of the DK about this behavior?

Thanky for your response.

Unfortunately, it does not work. "nRF Connector v3.3.0 - Programmer" complaints about "Unsupported device. The detected device could not be recognized as neither JLink device nor Nordic USB device."

Porgamming with "nrfjprog" does not complaint, but it seems that it does not have any effect. There is no output at all. When using "nrfjprog" with another nrf-chip, it does output "Parsing hex file. Erasing Page .... Applying system reset. ...".

Does nRF connect for desktop -> "nRF Programmer" work better?

If not, you can use nrfjprog directly from the command line to erase/program the device:

nrfjprog --program <hexfile> -f nrf52 --sectorerase --reset
