 I have a nRF51822 SoC custom board on which i have successfully tried flashing the executable file using openocd commands over Linux environment (Ubuntu 18.04 LTS). &lt;p&gt;Daniel has written a blog post on how to use GDB with J-link that you may find helpful:&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/nordic-blog/b/blog/posts/using-gdb-with-nordic-devices"&gt;https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/nordic-blog/b/blog/posts/using-gdb-with-nordic-devices&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;I&amp;#39;m not experienced with Openocd, but I guess the main difference is going to be how you set up&amp;nbsp;the GDB server.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;GDB can load symbols from .axf files.&lt;/p&gt;
