Hi!

You should be able to do it with the Programmer application now.

I am aware of a bug with the Thingy:91 where you're not able to put it in serial recovery mode with SW4 (nRF52840), but I haven't heard of the same with SW3 (nRF9160).

Please make a new ticket for the issue you're seeing with the Thingy:91.

It seems I am facing same issue. I have a Thingy 91 PCA20035 board with version 1.0.2 and below it says 2020.13. Do I still need to use the command line for programming thingy 91 or can it use nrf connect programmer app? Right now when I tried using programmer app, its not recognising the device and continue to say "No device available". Tried turning the board on and off with SW3 pressed but didn't detect the device.

Okay, the tutorial you linked to in your post explains how to do this.

You can't use the nRF Connect Programmer app, you will have to use a terminal and follow the steps in the guide.

I don't have a programmer so was wanting to do this via USB if possible.

I see. And are you using an external debugger or wanting to program it via USB using MCUBoot?

If you look on the white sticker on the PCB, under "PCA20035", which version of the Thingy:91 do you have?
