The modem team is "pretty sure" that the transmitter will not be turned on if you send the two AT commands "within a second or so".

The next feature release of the modem firmware will have better support for getting information from the SIM card without also turning on all LTE functionality.

Hi.

As you mention, you can have the SIM active without connecting to LTE using CFUN=44.

However, I will have to ask the modem team regarding your question of whether we can guarantee that we will not initiate a network attach before you are able to issue CFUN=44.

I will let you know when I get an answer.

Looks like the semicolon syntax isn't actually supported... It was just ignoring the latter half entirely. So, I still seem to need to do CFUN 1 and then CFUN 44, just two separate commands. At any rate, is there any kind of guarantee that -- if I do it fast enough -- it won't start registering with the tower?

I should add that I am unable to do something like read the ICCID if I am in CFUN 0 or 4, and going from 0/4 to 44 doesn't change that.

I'm also using version 1.1.0 of the modem firmware.
