 Just reporting an issue I am having with the nRF9160 SDK in the hope that it will help someone else. OS is Ubuntu 18.04. 
 
 I was getting errors which look like this: 
 
 
 
 and these were preventing the build from completing. &lt;p&gt;You should select the non-secure version of the board, as bsdlib can only be used from a non-secure application and you need bsdlib to use the modem.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To select the non-secure version of the board, you must select the version with &amp;quot;ns&amp;quot; at the end of the name, e.g. nrf9160_pca10090&lt;strong&gt;ns&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
