The only time you need to run Get-ExecutionPolicy is when you're installing choco. Also, you don't need to use the Powershell (except for when you're installing choco), you can use cmd as well (which is more user-friendly I think).

However, regarding your issues with installing west, check out this ticket, where another customer is having the same problem. Heidi provided this answer:

"Hi, yes, it can very likely be your company's firewall preventing the connection. You could try installing using your personal internet and see if that solves the issue.

If it does, I suggest talking to your IT department about this limitation."

That is wrong, copy the folders arm-none-eabi, bin, lib, share and uinstall.exe into C:\gnuarmemb.

The default location for the GNU ARM Embedded toolchain is in "C:\Program Files (x86)" if you don't actively change it during the installation process it will be placed there, and that is probably the reason for the error you are getting.

Try running this instead:

choco install python --version 3.8.0

It seems like there are some problems with installing python 3.8.2 with choco at the moment: https://github.com/chocolatey/chocolatey.org/issues/765#issuecomment-591299159

Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force; [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol -bor 3072; iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('https://chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))

Instead of:

Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process -Force; [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol = [System.Net.ServicePointManager]::SecurityProtocol -bor 3072; iex ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString('chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))

Notice the difference, you didn't include the "https://"

Try running one of these commands before running Get-ExecutionPolicy:

Set-ExecutionPolicy AllSigned
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process

Then continue with all the steps shown below.

I will show you, step by step how to do it:

Go to the search bar (press windows button)
Type in "windows powershell"
It will show up. Then right-click on it and click on "Run as administrator".

Click on yes and the shell will open:

If you run choco, you can see that it's not installed:
