I am using lte_ble_gateway, and I sending a ping after the device is disconnected from nrf_cloud, however i do not get any error message. please assist

I couldn't see any changes to the default values. If you are using the asset_tracker, the MQTT_KEEPALIVE value has been set to 1200.

If you are having problems, I recommend you open a new ticket where you describe your application, and the problem you are seeing.

Has the nrf_cloud library default keep-alive time changed from 60s to 300s? I am getting a problem when I send ping after the nrf_cloud has disconnected I do not receive any error. Can you assist?

Hi Marshed.

The device communicates with nRF Cloud using MQTT, where you can send keep-alive packets to keep a connection alive, while not sending any data.

In the application, you set the keep-alive interval (it can be smart to set it a bit shorter than the interval the server use, to account for latency in waking up, etc.), and call mqtt_live regularly.

If that is the case, how do we keep these devices connected all the time?

Yes it does. The nrf_cloud library uses a keep-alive time of 60s by default, while AWS (which nRF Cloud is built on) allows a keep-alive time of up to 1200s.
