Hi,

Yes, it does not serve a purpose to get the antenna to work, if that is what you mean. The NFC antenna is just a coil, communicating with the reader though mutual inductance and varying the load resistance internal to the nRF52, and thus the current flowing through the reader loop. The crossing I suspect might be to create some twisted pair mechanic, or similar, but it should work just fine if you keep it straight also.

Hi,

Is it correct to say that copper is crossing each other just to gain some length? In my case I can make it straight then to keep similar length even after extending.

Hi,

Both should work fine. You might see slightly different tuning capacitance needed, so make sure you tune the actual antenna you make, not the one that comes with the DK.
