Note that the IP addresses mentioned by the OP are for the webserver serving the website nrfcloud.com. This is not the host at which the MQTT endpoint terminates.

You need to resolve the hostname: a2n7tk1kp18wix-ats.iot.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

Sorry for the late reply. I checked with a colleague of mine that has done testing in places where dns isn't available. He gave me these three:

Lookup IPv4 Address: 34.196.63.37
Lookup IPv4 Address: 52.203.52.208
Lookup IPv4 Address: 52.86.193.227

Sorry Hakon, I am still a bit confused. The problem is that the sims come pre-configured with only 2 IP addresses. Which is the best one to choose, 143.204.202.2 or 13.226.15.63 or 52.87.36.155? I guess the nrfcloud.com domain is a leased based IP, so it will just keep changing, in which case it may change before the sim even gets delivered to us?

yes; that would work for evaluation.

Remember to wrap the IP in quotes:

CONFIG_NRF_CLOUD_STATIC_IPV4_ADDR="52.87.36.155"

On the larger time scale there will not be any limitation to the number of IPs that the device can connect to, however for the evaluation sim there is. Is there no specific IP that is used in the UK/ EU for which does not change. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the IP you use to connect to nrfcloud.com will stay the same. I would recommend that you open a dialog with your carrier and ask about how this scenario should be handled on a larger time scale perspective.
