Yes, it's nRF52840. I'm refering to falling asleep API in 802.15.4 system abstraction library.

What chip are you using? Is it the nRF52840? What "falling asleep API" do you refer to?

Please note that these examples don't have the same timeslot functionality as BLE, so the radios need to be listening when they do not transmit.

Also, there is a recent problem that I faced. I can't compile the project when I use falling asleep API. It gives me error: sys_sleep.c:(.text.sys_sleep_approver_register+0x2e): undefined reference to `ffs'

My intention is to use 802.15.4 MAC api to send/receive MCPS data packets to implement my own custom protocol. I've been struggling for a while reading the documentation. Am I required to use sys_init(), sys_task_run() and sys_task_post() (System Abstraction Library) to use async calls like mcps_data_req?

Thank you for reporting.

I agree that the 802.15.4 documentation from the SDK is not great. However, it is not much used. Our Zigbee and Thread SDK use a different 802.15.4 stack that is a bit more tested (but it is a driver without the MAC layer).

The FSM doesn't have a graphical representation, but perhaps you are able to deduce the states and actions used if you look at the m_transition_table[] on line 142-174 in fsm.c

Do you intend to use Thread or ZigBee? Or do you intend to use the raw 802.15.4 driver?

I assume you have found the information on infocenter regarding the 802.15.4 drivers.
