The nRF24L01+ is a product that is in volume production, and various modules exists by third party manufacturers. However the product is >10years old, and there have not been any new software development the last decade.

For new development you should check out the nRF52-series, for instance the nRF52810 that is a complete system on chip solution with mcu, radio, and a range of gpios and serial interfaces. Also there is a range of pre-qualifed modules listed here: https://www.nordicsemi.com/Software-and-tools/3rd-Party/3rd-party-modules

For new development check out:
https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ug_getting_started/UG/gs/product_development.html

A free commercial license of the Segger Embedded Studio IDE is available when developing with nRF products. Getting a few nRF52-DK is the preferred starting point.

Best regards,
Kenneth
