At this stage of the product development cycle, we would like to be able just to take simple reading from ADP536x module (to read either battery percentage or current voltage, whatever is simpler). We don't want to change any of the ADP536x

RE: Reading battery status on Thingy:91 board through ADP536x

Yes, something like that is a rough estimate of a battery state.

Li-Ion batteries have voltage in the range from 3.6 to 4.2V. You should read the battery datasheet to have a rough insight into how the battery voltage is translated into battery capacity.

% obtained in such a way is a rough estimate, I repeat.

Thanks a lot for the reply! I will try the AT%XVBAT. How do you do the conversion to know the % ? I mean which are the maximum and minimum voltage so i can do the math ?

RE: Reading battery status on Thingy:91 board through ADP536x

Hi RicardoPereira.

This can do the job for us at this moment. Thank you very much for your suggestion!

Anyway, even though we are good at the moment, I would like to know how can we include ADP536x in the tree and communicate with it.

If you just want the battery level in voltage, have you considered the AT command XVBAT? That will fire out the current battery level in mVs and doesn't require any communication with the PMIC.
