Take a look at the solution proposed in the mentioned ticket. It is actually the same as you proposed (PC-UART-52DK-NUS-52CUSTOM-UART-SVR-NRF91). If you want to stick with SDK 15.2 you can just use the examples ble_app_uart_c and ble_app_uart instead.

Thanks a lot Simon. I'm already subscribing to that ticket and will follow up your answers there.

But ulike Vojislav, I don't have an option to use Zephyr in nRF52. Too much old code to port! I was rather thinking of making a transparent link thru nRf52. Maybe using mcumgr from PC-UART-52DK-NUS-52CUSTOM-UART-SVR-NRF91 (hope that make sense)

This should be possible, take a look at this ticket which is quite similar to yours, where I have posted a partial answer. I will dig more into this and keep you updated.
