We are developing a custom board with nRF52840 and nRF9160. The 9160 is running a modified version of serial_LTE_modem, whereas the 52840 is running the main application using SDK15.2. It all works fine :-)
But now we want to implement nrf9160

RE: nrf9160 DFU over BLE

Thank you, Simon

I will try this solution and come back to you...

RE: nrf9160 DFU over BLE

Take a look at the solution proposed in the mentioned ticket. It is actually the same as you proposed (PC-UART-52DK-NUS-52CUSTOM-UART-SVR-NRF91). If you want to stick with SDK 15.2 you can just use the examples ble_app_uart_c and ble_app_uart instead.

Best regards,

I'm already subscribing to that ticket and will follow up your answers there.

But ulike Vojislav, I don't have an option to use Zephyr in nRF52. Too much old code to port! I was rather thinking of making a transparent link thru nRf52. Maybe using mcumgr from PC-UART-52DK-NUS-52CUSTOM-UART-SVR-NRF91 (hope that make sense)

RE: nrf9160 DFU over BLE

This should be possible, take a look at this ticket which is quite similar to yours, where I have posted a partial answer.
