&lt;li&gt;The &lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ps_nrf52833/uarte.html#topic"&gt;UARTE peripheral&lt;/a&gt; (supporting EasyDMA) has two available instances; UARTE0 and UARTE1.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span&gt;The&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/ps_nrf52833/uart.html#topic"&gt;UART peripheral&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;(supporting EasyDMA) has one available instance; UART0.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To sum up, both can work with EasyDMA, only instance 0 can work in &amp;quot;legacy mode&amp;quot;.&lt;/p&gt;
