i currently start developing with nrf52833 dev board. For the software examples from SDK16, how can I see, which version of software (pca10040/e, pca10056/e) I have to use?

Thanks in advance,

For example, the PCA10040 is the NRF52 Development Board, while PCA10056 is the NRF52840 Development Board.

The NRF52833 Developtment Board is PCA10100.
how can I see
This is stated on a sticker attached to every board. For development boards, this sticker is placed on top of the debugger SoC. If you are unable to find the PCA number on the board directly, you can check the boards Infocenter page, like the one I linked above.

Regarding SoftDevices compatible with your SoC, you can check their compatibility in their Compatibility Matrix.

Was this what you were looking for?

Best regards,
Karl
