I am following the guide and trying to use nRF Connect for Desktop to install the Getting Started Assistant.
I have downloaded the v3.3.1 nRF Connect appimage

RE: nRF Connect v3.3.1 appimage in Ubuntu 18.04 no Apps

Yeah, I could see that the link was broken. I will report it. It looks like 4.7-1 is not present anymore.

Instead of running:

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/d/device-tree-compiler/device-tree-compiler_1.4.7-1_amd64.deb

Try to run (4.7-3 instead of 4.7-1):

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/main/d/device-tree-compiler/device-tree-compiler_1.4.7-3_amd64.deb

Remember to install the dependencies first:

Regarding the issues with the nRF Connect App, I will look into it. However,
the Getting Started Assistant is actually deprecated, and the recommended
approach for installing NCS on Linux is to use the guide in the NCS documentation.

The folder /home/<user>/.config/nrfconnect

The folder /home/<user>/.nrfconnect-apps

The folder /home/<user>/.cache/nrfconnect-updater

The file nrfconnect331x8664.AppImage

Then install the nRF Connect for Desktop app again.

If it still doesn't work, you can install the nRF Connect SDK manually, which should show the same steps as in the Getting Started Assistant. The Getting Started Assistant is just a more structured way of following the steps and will make sure you're not missing any steps.

By the way

RE: nRF Connect v3.3.1 appimage in Ubuntu 18.04 no Apps

Hi Simon, yeah that is the same setup I have.

I've installed nRF Connect for Desktop v3.3.1 for Linux (Direct Download Link), on A VirtualBox Ubuntu 18.04 (64-bit), and after allowing executing and opening the AppImage file I am able to see and install all the apps under "APPS". To you have the exact same setup as me?
