This line right here broke it. It's the 12116 line long sdk_config.h file. When this value was 1, the logging used UART and therefore the BLE can't use it.

When init_uart was called, it evaluate this if statement in "nrfx_uart.c" to true and set the error code to 0x08.

EDIT: I also had to remove "BSP_DEFINES_ONLY" and "nRF_sdk/components/drivers_nrf/nrf_soc_nosd"

Complete merge means (same as partial 2, except...)

.emProject (see "ble_twi-completeMerge.emProject" since .emProject files won't load)
- All the missing includes from "twi_sensor" HAVE been added to "ble_app_uart"
- to "configuration/c_preprocessor_definitions" the value "BSP_DEFINES_ONLY;" is added
- to "configuration/c_user_include_directories" the value "nRF_sdk/components/drivers_nrf/nrf_soc_nosd;" is added

Unfortunately I have attempted to remove "BSP_DEFINES_ONLY" and the "nRF_sdk/components/drivers_nrf/nrf_soc_nosd" in Partial Merge 2. Only the Complete Merge includes those. When I did NOT include those, the project built successfully...

Ok, I see what is happening. You have included the path to 'nRF_sdk/components/drivers_nrf/nrf_soc_nosd', before the paths to the softdevice headers. Since this directory also contains nrf_error.h, this will be used during compilation, but since SOFTDEVICE_PRESENT is defined, the code inside will be ignored.

You need to remove this path when building a softdevice application, to allow the headers from the softdevice to be used. This path should only be included in non-softdevice applications. You should also remove the preprocessor define BSP_DEFINES_ONLY for your project to build successfully.

I believe that this line in "nrf_error.h" is what is causing the issue. Softdevice being defined in the sdk_config.h breaks it. I will attempt to add the project.

Hi,

I'm not sure how you managed to get the error "'NRF_SUCCESS' undeclared", as this is declared in nrf_error.h, which is included by sdk_error.h through app_error.h. This header seems to be included in your main.h file. Was this error reported by main.c?

If you could upload your full project, it would be much easier to help you fix the compile and run-time errors.
