Yes, the production version of the nRF5340 is coming out next month, and will include a functional USBD interface.

Yes. Once the new devkits are available you should also be able to order parts, but supply might be limited initially.

The new kits should be on the way to distributors these days.

Unfortunately I have to revise this statement. The new parts and devkits should be available some time next month (December 2020).

If you check on the distributor page you can also find other distributors in your area that might have stock earlier.

Hi,

was the new revision released as planned? If so, where can I get a dev kit with this new nRF5340?

I assume that the ones available at Digikey and Mouser are still the first PDK with the nRF-USB components not mounted due to this bug.

We don't test the device with any of the VDD pins missing, so we can't really say what might happen in this case.

It's not unthinkable that it will affect RF performance though, so if you are planning to send your prototypes for RF testing I would strongly recommend making a new version with this corrected.

You also have to fix it before going to mass production obviously, but if your prototypes appear to work they might be usable for general development and debugging purposes.

Hello, I developed some prototypes they seem to work. But on manufacturing the pcb, the VDD pin E31 has been not connected to VDD 1.8V. Is it possible to know if the missing E31 VDD it's compromising RF part performance in the CHIP? I m using external 32MHz xo

Sorry for the slow response guys. The USBD interface will be added to the next hardware revision of the nRF5340, which is the first proper "non preview" version of the device.

We will have samples and devkits available for this part in August this year, and it will be available in volume some months later.

Hello Nordic folks. I've been watching this issue and waiting to see the answer to the above, "I suppose QKAAAB 1940 is not working too, when do you think to release a version supporting USBD?" When do you think USB functionality will be available on the nRF5340?

If and when they fix the chip design, USB can work with VDD/VDDH at 1.8Volts.

Remember that the Phy has its own LDO powered by VBus - this will provide the required 3,3V USB bus voltage level.
