What voltage are you running your custom board at? The j-link lite can only program devices running at 3.3 V. If you use a lower voltage you could experience what you are describing. Make sure you have common ground between the boards as well.

Also the interface on the nRF51822-EK was not design to be used to program external boards.

Negative!MY segger version is 4.96a! the first version I used was 4.68, I tried all order and newer version but no one can found the device.

Download the latest segger jlink software and see if that works from the command line. If it does then nrfgo studio is trying to use an old one. There are posts about this if you search.
