I am trying to control the smart phone function while making my device as HID keyboard, but It seems that the soft keyboard (smart phone on screen keyboard) clashing with the HID keyboard.
Connection between device and smart phone is ok. Maybe it's only applied for Nexus device not on my Samsung S4.
However, if you only plan to use the media key, and if you configured the Report Map characteristic
correctly, Andoird will detect that and will still show the on-screen keyboard.
You can have a look at this example to know how to send media key.

RE: BLE HID Keyboard Android

Hello Mr Hung Bui,
Thanks for your reply~
I checked it, and followed it, still the same issue, Its not getting pop up when I try to type something.

well, I have one more issue with my other device, I am using consumer key and it has detailed code for all the possible consumer devices, I want to use only the "volume up" key for my application. As I am totally a newbie for this, could you please suggest me some code view for just using "volume up key" while using consumer control for my application ?

Thanks in advance

RE: BLE HID Keyboard Android

Hi Ash,

Could you tell a little bit more on "clashing with the HID keyboard" you have ? It's a normal behaviour that after you connect the external keyboard the on-screen keyboard stops appearing.
There is a way to enable it back as I can see here.
