Hi,

This is the project that is used for the bootloader of the atmel on the nRF51-DK:

This only has keil projects, so I did a quick build with dummy values in this file:

Unfortunately, I do not have a programmer header available for the 10 pin connector at my current location, so I blindly compiled it for you.

i just found this quote in the nRF51 Development Kit User guide page 11:

When in bootloader mode, do not drag and drop any files
except those downloaded from www.nordicsemi.com for use
with the Interface MCU. If a wrong file is used, it can
overwrite the bootloader and ruin the Interface MCU firmware
without the possibility of recovery.

i think this is what happened, and the doc says its impossible to recover? is there no jtag pins somewhere on this Interface MCU that i can connect to and write a new firmware onto it?

looking at the output of dmesg while doing your proposal, sadly no usb device comes up. at all, also LD5 is not giving any signs of life.

Hi,

Could you try this sequence?

Power off the kit. Hold down the "IF boot / reset" button, then power on the kit.

A mass-storage drive with the name "BOOTLOADER" should come up.

Download https://www.nordicsemi.com/-/media/Software-and-other-downloads/Dev-Kits/nRF5x-DK-files/J-Link-OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi-170724.bin and place this in the drive.

Wait 10 seconds after successful copy.

Power cycle the board and run JLinkExe from terminal (updates to a newer J-Link OB fw). PS: Named JLink Commander on Windows.
