Thank you very much for the samples! I am trying to create one by my own to send the sensor data. The samples check an ntp server so I have to change a lot =)

Okay! How about this sample, UDP with PSM, made by a colleague in tech support? Just set the host and port in the main.c file to communicate with the server.

This sample also implements power-saving mode for the modem, which will reduce the power consumption of the application overall, by going into PSM when not communicating with a network.

There is also a UDP with GPS sample that adds support for GPS.

I am looking into the cloud_client and https_client at the moment but I can't figure out where I can set my server...

It is a Debian server with a small script running which is listening to udp port 7000.

Have you taken a look at the samples available in NCS? What kind of server is it? We have this sample that sets up a simple HTTP communication and sends an HTTP request.

Thank you for your reply.

I want that the application will collect the sensor data (temperature, humidity, air pressure and gps) and sends it to my sever
so i can save the data in a db.

Hi!

Yes, our nRF Connect SDK has a lot of samples available, a few of which demonstrate how to connect the nRF9160 SiP to online platforms via various protocols. We have the Cloud Client sample that you can use to connect to AWS IoT. We also have an LwM2M Client sample to connect to any LwM2M server. We also have a simple MQTT sample to connect to an MQTT broker.

The Asset Tracker application, which is the firmware running on the device when it's shipped out, connects to nRF Cloud and sends data, but isn't really made to easily change the destination, so I would suggest trying out one of the other apps in NCS.

If you give me some more information on what you want your application to do, I can give you more specific advice.
