It was awhile ago, but I believe I had the acceptable connection interval on the device side set beyond what Windows was willing to provide. I was also requiring that Data Length Extension be supported and dropping the connection if it wasn't. I believe relaxing that requirement solved the problem.

To solve your problem, I recommend investigating each point of the connection negotiation process and see where the nRF52 fails.

Its so great that you solved the issue! Can you tell more about how you actually solved it? I tried reading about connection parameter negotiation failed, but it all seems really confusing and I am a newbie to all of this. Maybe you can share some link or your solution. Thanks for your help!

This is entirely not helpful and counterproductive. The issue was a combination of how my code and settings on the nRF52 interacted with Windows and Matlab. Pointing the finger at another company for integration issues is what cheap, poor quality customer support agents do.

I did! I believe the issue was that the connection parameter negotiation failed (e.g. connection interval was outside allowed values). It turns out that MATLAB stalls if that process is complete.

Actually I just verified that its not a Matlab issue. I am facing the same issue if I try to connect using Bluetooth LE explorer app from windows store. The connection is established but the app shows it failed. I wonder where the issue is if its not Matlab, so I am guessing that it could be a Nordic issue. Let's try to brainstorm and solve the issue instead of finding someone else such as Matlab responsible.

The point is that it's a matlab question - not really to do with Nordic - so you should be asking matlab.

Also check the matlab forums to see if jcondon did re-post the question there ...

awneil I know it does. That's not what I asked. I asked jcondon if he managed to solve the issue using the answer given (or by any other method for that matter). Let's wait and hopefully hear from jcondon if he's still active on the forum.

Have you actually studied all the information linked from that page?

That defines what MATLAB needs & supports.

Have you implemented the required Services, Characteristics, etc in your nRF52840 ?

There is even an example for the Thingy:52:
