it is not guaranteed that configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW will catch the overflow for sure. it might miss it sometimes. But I would recommend you to set configCHECK_FOR_STACK_OVERFLOW to 2 only for debugging to have higher probability of catching the stack overflow.

And it's very strange because vApplicationStackOverflowHook caught nothing.

In file $NRF_SDK/components/softdevice/common/nrf_sdh_freertos.c I set NRF_BLE_FREERTOS_SDH_TASK_STACK to 512 and the problem was solved. On my opinion this param should be in sdk_config.h, also softdevice task priority should be in config.
