I had the same error in fact. I was also puzzled about this, but found out that it seems that Keil can't handle very long path names, at least not the version that I have, which is 5.14. I solved this by renaming the \components\softdevice\common\softdevice_handler\ directory to \components\softdevice\common\sh. Then I had to correct references in Keil in order to link to the changed directory name.

I'm having some problems. I get an directory error and i don't know why.

error: "no source": Error: #5: cannot open source input file "..........\components\softdevice\common\softdevice_handler\softdevice_handler_appsh.c": No such file or directory

But on that directory, "..........\components\softdevice\common\softdevice_handler" the file "softdevice_handler_appsh.c" exists. But i don't understand why keil doesn't open it. Do you have some idea?

It should work. I have not tried it yet. My colleague created it recently. Any feedback is appreciated.

I can understand your frustration. We have not made much time to update projects on Github to the latest SDKs. To address the problem I have made a short guide in order to run older examples in latest Keil version, see here. Please inform me if it is useful and if you can run the ble_app_lbs example by following this guide. We will eventually make time to port the ble_app_lbs example to the latest SDK. In the meantime, try to follow the steps provided in the guide.

I don't know why do "nordic support" make it so difficult for starters like us. Can't you just make a simple example which works out of the box ? Should not be very difficult for so called experts.

The example is currently only available for Keil 4, or Keil 5 with legacy support.

For porting the example for PCA10001, look at this thread.

Good question!

I guess when the Github example was released for SDK 7.1, S110 7.0 was available. Then later, S110 7.1 was released, which is the same as S110 7.0, just with few extra features/bug fixes. So, the example should run with both S110 7.0 and S110 7.1. Anyway, I recommend to use S110 7.1 rather than S110 7.0, as the nRF51 compatibility matrix suggests.
