 I am working with nrf5_SDK_16.0.0 and using VS Code as IDE. When I open the &amp;quot;stdint.h&amp;quot; header file in VS Code, the 16-bit compiler is enabled: 
 
 But, I open this header file in SEGGER Studio, the 32-bit compiler is enabled:

&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;VSCode does not have any way of fetching the if defined symbols that are listed, therefore it visually provides the #else.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;You can add&amp;nbsp;symbols manually if you want:&lt;/p&gt;
