Absolutely!

As already noted, That would apply to any project - not just Nordic; not just Segger.

I would suggest you keep the same version tool for one project. For the detail difference of these two versions, you will need to contact Seggers customer support directly so they may take a closer look, they are available here.

Changing tools is never a trivial exercise - this applies to any IDE, not just SES.

I just think the SES should be backwards compatible. So I think the problem maybe come from installation or setup error.

Would you think that the two version caused the problem?

Others , Can the license of V4.52 match the V4.22?

why don't you just install v4.22 ?

previous versions (back to v4.10) are available on the Segger download page.
