I'm working with the nrf5340 and I'm trying to perform a FOTA upgrade over BLE. After initiating DFU with nrf Connect for Mobile the process crashes right after "Uploading firmware" is shown in the log, and the progress bar does not move on

RE: FOTA upgrade over BLE crashes (nrf5340)

I have been finally able to perform a FOTA upgrade with nrf5340. Indeed, as they say in the previous github issue it is necessary for the TX and RX l2cap MTU to be the same size. I also needed to select the option "Confirm" in the mobile application so that the bootloader doesn't revert the image back and makes it permanent.

RE: FOTA upgrade over BLE crashes (nrf5340)

It's still not resolved, unfortunately. I ended up reporting the issue as a bug internally because I couldn't figure out what was causing it. It's currently listed as a known issue for NCS v1.3 + NRF5340: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/doc/release-notes-1.3.0.html#nrf5340

You may monitor the following issue on github to track the status of this bug: https://github.com/zephyrproject-rtos/zephyr/issues/25652

RE: FOTA upgrade over BLE crashes (nrf5340)

was this issue solved?

If so, could you please provide a brief for the FOTA procedure?

RE: FOTA upgrade over BLE crashes (nrf5340)

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. I believe I have replicated the same problem here but haven't been able to find out what the problem is yet. Everything appears to work when I repeat the same procedure on a nRF52 target, so it seems like we may have a configuration issue for the 53. I'll continue to investigate this and update the ticket as soon as I have more information to share.
