&lt;p&gt;Have you modified the SDK or blinky example project in any way? You should not get this error from an unmodified SDK. Did you possibly change the thumbs_crt0.s file according to &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/nordic/nordic-blog/b/blog/posts/segger-embedded-studio-a-cross-platform-ide"&gt;this blog-post&lt;/a&gt;? This could break compatibility with the SDK if you overwrite the original file.&lt;/p&gt;
